Marsh Madness
The fight is not over

You know better than anyone that water quality tells the story of Coastal Alabama. When our waters grow cloudy, when fish struggle, when shorelines erode, our way of life suffers.
Seagrass abundance is a key indicator of our watershed’s health. Coastal Alabama has lost more than 97 percent of its seagrass population. If we want our waters to recover, this is where the work begins.
But bringing seagrass back requires fixing the problems harming water quality in the first place. That means addressing dredge disposal, stormwater runoff, shoreline erosion, and nutrient pollution across the Bay.

Your past support GAVE US a foundation to build on
Your renewed support keeps the work alive.
Every Marsh Madness gift pushes the comeback farther and strengthens the work you helped start.

Your gift supports:
01
The Return of Seagrasses
You help us pinpoint what is killing seagrass, clear the waters they need to grow, and rebuild the underwater meadows that feed and shelter life across the coast. That work includes tackling the upstream drivers of poor water quality, such as dredge disposal, runoff, shoreline erosion, shipwake, and nutrient pollution.
02
Stronger Oyster Reefs
You help restore oysters that filter the water, guard our shorelines, and seed new reefs that bring back the life we have lost.
03
We Clean Up
You help us monitor the places our families depend on, report threats in a swift manner, and hold polluters accountable so no one has to question the water.
04
Fish That are Safe to Eat
You help us track fish consumption advisories, uncover the pollution behind them, and push for real solutions so folks can enjoy the catch without fear.
You have already invested in this work. Now is the time to see it through.

We have seen proof that long- term commitment works
Tampa Bay recovered 90 percent of its seagrasses because people refused to let the work stall out. That kind of recovery is possible here, too, but only if folks like you stay in the fight.
Your renewed support this spring keeps momentum alive.
