Right now, our seagrasses are on the edge. Marsh Madness is our time to turn the tide on this Cinderella Story. The work to bring them back starts with people like you.

Join us this Spring.

Makes me sick that I can't take my boy fishing and eat the fish from the same places my daddy and I used to fish.

It's such a shame. We have to do better.

Marsh Madness

What is at stake

Water quality tells the truth about our coast. When the Bay turns cloudy, when fish thin out, when shorelines crumble, we feel it in our bones.

Seagrasses are one of the clearest signs of whether our waters are healthy. Coastal Alabama has lost approximately 66 percent of its native seagrasses. That loss touches everything from the fish we catch to the places our children swim.

If we want a different future, this is where the work begins.

This is what Marsh Madness is all about. Restoring the roots of our coast so life can return.

We know recovery is possible

Places like Tampa Bay brought their seagrasses back because people committed to the long haul.

Their waters recovered. Their fish are thriving, and so is their way of life. Their shoreline came alive again.

Coastal Alabama can see that same comeback. We just need more folks like you in the fight.

Give Now

Your gift fuels the comeback our coast needs.

Your support helps Baykeeper protect and restore the core indicators of a healthy Bay.

Every Marsh Madness gift pushes the comeback farther.

01

The return of seagrasses

You help us pinpoint what is killing seagrass, clear the waters they need to grow, and rebuild the underwater meadows that feed and shelter life across the coast.

02

Stronger oyster reefs

You help restore oysters that filter the water, guard our shorelines, and seed new reefs that bring back the life we have lost.

03

We cleanup

You help us monitor the places our families depend on, report threats in a swift manner, and hold polluters accountable so no one has to question the water.

04

Fish that are safe to eat

You help us track fish consumption advisories, uncover the pollution behind them, and push for real solutions so folks can enjoy the catch without fear.
