VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WITH MOBILE BAYKEEPER

  •  Become a Volunteer Field Observer!  Mobile Baykeeper and partner Alabama Coastal Foundation have trained over 300 volunteers to monitor Alabama's almost 600 miles of tidal shoreline for oil impacts.  These volunteers are trained to identify oil related impacts and log this data into saveourgulf.org.  This is a self-scheduled volunteer opportunity that requires at least a three-month commitment. If you're interested in becoming a Volunteer Field Observer, please go through the online training available here.
  • Help with Mobile Baykeeper Booth at many different venues (Earth Day, Environmental Studies Center, Engaging the Next Generation, etc.)  Mobile Baykeeper staff will accompany volunteers at these events as we educate and inform the public of our mission, volunteer opportunities and membership information.  These are scheduled regularly throughout the year.
  • We need volunteers to help with the Spring Hill Medical Center Grandman Triathlon, our major fundraiser, which takes place next on June 4, 2011.   This is a fun event that requires over 100 volunteers!  Volunteers are needed in advance to help with packet stuffing and pick-up and the Friday before the event for set-up.
  • Help out in the office with our archives!  We keep newspaper clippings and periodicals about environmental issues in our area.  We need help keeping these current and organized so that we can make them available to the public.
  • Help with Membership Recruitment by hosting a house party in your area.  If you are interested in helping Mobile Baykeeper reach out to new members by inviting your friends to an informal and fun event, let us know!
  • Data Entry & Filing in our office
  • Baykeeper Patrol -- be the eyes and ears of Mobile Baykeeper by calling us when you see a pollution problem in your community.

PLEASE CONTACT THE OFFICE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING!
