Save Our Gulf
Save Our Gulf is a coalition of seven Waterkeepers brought together in the wake of the BP Oil Disaster to lead the fight to restore and protect local watersheds, coastal communities and the Gulf of Mexico. We hold polluters and decision makers accountable and promote the sustainability of our communities. Our vision is for all communities to have waterways that are swimmable, drinkable and fishable. Save Our Gulf is a trustworthy source for updates from the front lines, transparent news and action.
We intend to record a comprehensive account of the oil impacts that have taken place as a result of the Gulf Oil Disaster. Save Our Gulf Waterkeepers actively conduct water, soil and tissue sampling for up-to-date data and information. We also receive vital information from Volunteer Field Observers. Our Volunteer Field Observation program provides us with observations, photos and videos collected by citizen volunteers. All reports and information submitted to the www.saveourgulf.org website will be used to inform the Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) process, and ultimately drive federal money back to restore the environment of the Gulf Coast for future generations.
