"The Green Room

In response to the BP oil disaster, more than fifty artists in a wide variety of media have contributed works to The Green Room, an exhibition/ silent auction hosted by Mobile Arts Council to benefit Mobile Baykeeper. Bidding has begun and will continue throughout the month, concluding at 5 PM on Friday, June 25.

Some works, such as Nancy Goodman’s quilted “BP Assault” or Walter Simon’s painting “Deepwater Horizon,” comment directly on the crisis, but most capture the beauty of the Bay and coast, portraying the landscapes and wildlife threatened by the oil leak.

The auction includes several other items, including books and a Gulf Coast dinner for eight.
