Friends United for Beach Protection benefit concert

FRIENDS UNITED FOR BEACH PROTECTION

On July 10th, people along the Gulf Coast will unite for a benefit concert to bring greater awareness to the effects of the DeepWater Horizon oil disaster. Local volunteers have pooled resources to help in every aspect of this cause, in hopes of generating the much-needed assistance required to help us recover from this unimaginable tragedy.
ObjectiveRaise awareness and money for those working to clean and protect our area.All profits from the benefit will go to the coastal conservation organization, Mobile Baykeeper. The concert is free to attend, so profits will stem from product sales, i.e. beverages and event souvenirs.
Where The concert will be held at The Soul Kitchen in the heart of downtown Mobile, at 219 Dauphin Street.
Admission Free! However, you must be 21 or older to attend.
When Doors open at 6:00 p.m. “Mob Town Revival” will take the stage at 7 p.m. to kick off the night’s festivities.

Representatives from Mobile Baykeeper, including Executive Director, Casi Callaway will be on hand to offer information, accept donations, and thank the sponsors that made the production of this event possible. Adding to her many accolades, Ms. Callaway was recently honored in the Lifetime network series, “Remarkable Women.” She keeps excellent company; Hilary Clinton and Michelle Obama were among others honored in the series.
Parking There is parking throughout the streets of downtown Mobile, as well as parking lots on streets adjacent to Dauphin. We encourage you to carpool. Please drink responsibly, and select a designated driver for the night.

About the bands
Mob Towne Revival describes their sound as, “Hip-hop lyrical stylings on a classical blues palette; unique, intricate, and intelligent.”
Super Nice Bros. A popular local R&B group, Super Nice Bros. claims to have the power to “bring back to life the interesting and educational mustard-filled dance parties” of the past.

DJ Trey Stein describes himself as a “virtuoso DJ.” Stein spent time on the Nashville music scene, and he has toured with the likes of Hank Williams III and Melvins.
SubjecTmAtTerS Originally from Mobile, AL, the members of SubjecTmAtTers combine poetry and rhythm to produce a high-energy Hip-Hop show with lyrics laced with a message.
EL Cantador Another Mobile favorite, Mobile-based El Cantador supplies a unique blend of Soul, Indie, and Rock.
Green Hit’s “influences range from Afrobeat to Electronica, and from Funk to Post-Rock. Expect a full-on production, complete with intense intelligent lighting.”
