Officers

 

Bryan Pape, President

Vice President of Commercial Banking at Hancock Bank, Bryan graduated from Auburn University in 1988 and received his Master’s Degree from University of South Alabama in 1991. In addition to serving as the  President of the Mobile Baykeeper Board of Directors, Bryan is a member of the Coastal Conservation Association and the Mobile Touchdown Club. He lives in Mobile with his wife and two children.

 

Dale Marston, Vice President

Dale Marston is the founder and Managing Member of Construction Risk Mitigation, LLC, a third-party provider of construction progress inspections and risk management services to financiers of real estate development projects along the Gulf Coast. After ten years of experience in the banking industry providing real estate construction financing in Charlotte, NC, Mobile and on the Eastern Shore, Dale now uses his expertise assisting financiers with construction funding management for residential and commercial projects. In addition to serving as the Vice-President of the Mobile Baykeeper Board of Directors, Dale is a member of the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce and the Baldwin County Home Builders Association. He resides in Montrose with his wife and two children.

Max Reed, Secretary 

A Marketing professional and President of the ROC Group Marketing, LLC, Max received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Alabama with a focus in creative writing and a minor in Communication Arts. He is a member of St. John Catholic Church, the Baldwin County Planning and Zoning Board for District 21, and serves on the Friends of Baldwin Steering Committee. Max and his family reside in Magnolia Springs.


J. Benson O’Connor, Treasurer

Benson serves as Controller at White Spunner, LLC. In addition to serving as the Treasurer of Mobile Baykeeper’s Board of Directors, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants. He resides in Mobile with his wife and two children.

Judy Culbreth
 

Since returning to Mobile in September 2005, Judy Culbreth has served as editorial director of Mobile Bay Monthly magazine. As editorial director, Culbreth supervises the overall production of the magazine, including the development and assignment of articles, writing and editing. Culbreth’s extensive media career includes work at Seventeen, Ladies’ Home Journal and Mademoiselle magazines. She served as executive director of Redbook, editor-in-chief of Working Mother magazine (for 10 years), and was a vice president at Scholastic. She also appeared monthly for four years on the “Today Show” as the show’s first work/family contributing editor, in addition to appearances on “MacNeil/Lehrer News Hour,” “NBC Nightly News,” “CBS Evening News,” ABC’s “Prime Time Live,” “Dateline,” and onMSNBC and CNN.

A Mobile native with a large extended family in both Mobile and Baldwin Counties, Culbreth resides at Week’s Bay in Fairhope. She is a graduate of Murphy High School and the University of South Alabama. In January 2007, she was named one of USA’s outstanding alumni.

Chris Fuchs

Managing Director of Budweiser-Busch Distributing, Chris is a member of Dauphin Way United Methodist Church, and works with several charities including United Cerebral Palsy, St. Jude, the American Cancer Society, United Way and the Mobile Food Bank. He resides in Mobile with his wife, Bonnie and their two children.

 

 

Maria W. Gwynn 

A retired Telecommunications Consultant, Maria graduated from Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is President of the Baldwin County Humane Society, a Board member of the Eastern Shore Literacy Council, Secretary of the Fairhope-Point Clear Association for Responsible Development, and a member of the Fairhope Tree Committee and Friends of Baldwin. She currently resides in Fairhope with her husband, Robbie.

   

Ronald “Chip” Herrington

Since 2003, Chip has served as a partner with the law firm of Blacksher & Herrington, LLC. He earned his law degree from the University of Mississippi in 1990 and is a member of both the Mississippi and Alabama Bar Associations. In addition to his work with Mobile Baykeeper, he is currently serving as the President of the Oakleigh Garden District Society and is a member of the Mobile County Wildlife & Conservation Association. He has previously served as a Commissioner to the Mobile Historic Development Commission and is a former Board member to the Historic Mobile Preservation Society. He resides in Mobile with his wife and two children.

Sallye English Irvine
Co-owner of Earth Chic, LLC and a food writer, Sallye holds a Master’s Degree from UNC Chapel Hill, and her articles appear regularly in both the Press-Register and Mobile Bay Monthly. She is a member of the Alabama Coastal Heritage Trust Board, Keep Mobile Beautiful, Urban Forestry Litter & Beautification, and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Mobile. She resides in Mobile with her husband George and their four children.

Thomas Lightcap 

Senior Project Manager with JG Management Systems/American Integrated Services, Inc., Tommy has 35 years experience as an engineer performing a broad spectrum of construction and environmental work for both the government and private sector. He has worked for numerous military clients, which include the Army, Air Force, Navy, Army Reserve and the National Guard as well as other agencies that include the EPA and NASA. He was the 1993 Corps of Engineers Environmental Engineer of the year. He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers. He resides in Mobile with his wife.

Ray Mayhall

A native of Mobile, Ray is a retired Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Advertising from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church and the American Cancer Society. He resides in the Fowl River area of Mobile with his wife, Jacque.

B. Greer Radcliff
Former President of Radcliff/Economy Marine Services, Inc., Greer is currently a Board member of The Nature Conservancy of Alabama, Lemhi Regional Land Trust, Idaho Rivers United, and the Weeks Bay Foundation. He currently resides in Fairhope.

L. Page Stalcup, III
Page is a partner with Wilkins Miller Hieronymus, LLC. He serves as Vice-Chair of the Providence Hospital Board of Directors, Chairman of audit and compensation committees, serves as Treasurer for the Exploreum Science Museum Board of Directors, Treasurer for the Edith Murphy Foundation, Treasurer of the Outback America Board of Directors, and a member of the St. Ignatius Church finance council. He resides in Mobile.

Frank Summersell

Currently retired, Frank was President and Owner of Educators Resource, Inc. for 31 years. Educators Resource is the leading wholesale distributor of pre K-8 learning materials and educational toys used by schools, teachers, parents and children. A past President of Mobile Baykeeper’s Board of Directors, he is also the Board President of St. Mary’s Home Foundation, and a member of the Village of Springhill. He currently resides in the Springhill area of Mobile with his wife, Annie.
